The article considers topical issues of developing stress resistance in students of theater universities in the context of the evolution of pedagogical approaches. The traditional paradigm of "hardening with stress" and the modern integrative approach presented by the "Stage without stress" program are analyzed. Based on the data of an experimental study (September 2024 - April 2025) with the participation of 127 students of theater universities in Russia, the need to transform the methods of developing psychoemotional stability of future actors is substantiated. The key problem areas of the traditional approach are identified: ignoring individual differences in reactions to stress, lack of consistency in the formation of self-regulation skills, and the predominance of authoritarian practices. The theoretical foundations and practical mechanisms for integrating theater pedagogy with modern psychotechnics are presented. A correlation was established between the indicators of activity and stress resistance (r = 0.24), as well as between optimism and stress resistance (r = 0.37). The effectiveness of the new approach, which ensures sustainable positive changes in overcoming stage fright, is substantiated: 82.5% of participants continue to use the mastered techniques 3 months after completing the program.
