The relevance of the research is related to the need to consider dance as a means of self-expression of a person and his belonging to a certain national culture, which allows him to identify. The article examines this concept from the standpoint of philosophy, psychology, sociology, and art history. The novelty of the research is related to the definition of the structurality of dance, the identification of its four types and elements that make up cultural identity. The combination of various methods and research approaches allowed us to consider dance as one of the ways of communication and a means of socialization, to determine its value in preserving traditions and their transmission to future generations.
