Features of the course and therapy of gastroesophageal reflux disease in women with overweight

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and obesity are taking the leading positions among a number of other acid-dependent diseases. While the problem of GERD and the problem of overweight are sufficiently represented in the current scientific literature, the associated course of these conditions, with the identification of gender characteristics of diseases, with a characteristic of their combined course and the choice of antisecretory therapy, in particular using proton pump inhibitors, are still subject for study. The article presents the features of the GERD course in women with overweight and the results confirming the effectiveness of the drug pantoprazole as a drug monotherapy in this category of persons.
