Features of experiencing loneliness of patients with schizophrenia

In this paper we present a quantitative analysis of associations between severity of depression, types of attitude towards the disease and types of loneliness. 40 subjects who were diagnosed with different forms of schizophrenia at the time of research participated in this study. Participants in the study were asked to respond to three instruments: Beck Depression Inventory (BDI); diagnostic questionnaire “Loneliness”; “Type of attitude to the disease” (TOBOL). Prevailing types of attitude to the disease (ergopathic) and loneliness (dissociated, alienating) were discovered. The analysis of associations between said variables allowed to discover groups of types of attitude towards the disease, correlating with severity of depression and loneliness state positively and negatively.
