Blockchain technology as the infrastructure of information space in a smart city

The concept of "smart city" has become popular over the past few years. It covers several dimensions, depending on the meaning of the word "smart" and on the results of applying innovative information and communication technologies to support decision-making at the citywide level. Based on previous research, this paper proposes the conceptual structure of an information space with three dimensions: population, technology and government, in the context of which a number of fundamental factors that make the city "smart" under the conditions of structural transformations of the economic paradigm are explored. Using this three-dimensional structure, the authors show how new Blockchain technologies can improve the efficiency of the management system and how the elements of this technology can help smart cities to develop public services. In conclusion, it is considered how Blockchain technologies can contribute to creation of the intellectual core of the "smart city" basing of developed conceptual basis of the information space.
