The concept, goals, tasks and functions of cassation courts of general jurisdiction

The article discusses the actual aspects of the functioning of the cassation courts in the context of the next stage of the reform of the judicial system of the Russian Federation. The starting point of the entire judicial reform is the increasing role of the judiciary in all spheres of society, that is, a sharp expansion of the competence and functions of the courts. The article reveals the concept, functions, purpose and tasks of the cassation courts as an independent link of the judicial system. The cassation powers are focused on protecting the interests of the parties to the judicial conflict for the purposes of the implementation by the court of cassation of not only general, but also specific goals and objectives. The conclusion is made about the need for further prolonged monitoring of the activities of the cassation courts in the context of assessing the effectiveness of the current stage of judicial reform.
