The article is devoted to the analysis of problems related to the implementation of citizens' constitutional right to a favorable environment in the modern Russian legal system. It examines the theoretical and legal aspects of environmental rights of individuals and citizens, and explores the difficulties of their practical enforcement.
The author analyzes the current environmental legislation of the Russian Federation, including federal laws on environmental protection, radiation safety of the population, sanitary and epidemiological welfare, and the use of atomic energy. Special attention is given to issues of legal regulation and methods of compensating environmental damage.
The paper substantiates the need to establish the institution of environmental courts in the Russian Federation as an important element of the system for protecting citizens' environmental rights. It also addresses the development of public participation in environmental protection activities, including support for volunteer initiatives and public environmental organizations.
