PSYCHOLOGY OF SUICIDAL BEHAVIOR IN YOUTH: THE IMPACT OF THE INFORMATION FIELD OF SOCIAL MEDIA

This article analyzes the development of suicidal ideation and behavior among young people under the influence of social media. The information field is considered as the basis for virtual influence on the consciousness of young people. The study, conducted with 120 young people who had previously attempted suicide, utilized Z. Korolev's "Your Suicidal Tendencies" test and the author's questionnaire on the influence of the information field of the virtual internet. Our analysis identified three types of youth susceptible to the influence of information about suicide; we identified key characteristics of their perception of the information context; and we also outlined the role and impact of cognitive, affective, and behavioral messages on social media dedicated to suicide. We also drew conclusions about strategies for informational prevention of suicidal behavior with different communities and groups of youth.
