METHODS FOR COMPARING ALLUSIONS IN TRANSLATION

This article touches upon the problem of translating such manifestations of intertextuality as allusions in translation from English into Russian. Non-textual information is always the most difficult to transmit due to the difference in background knowledge of representatives of different cultures. A comprehensive approach to this issue has long been a necessity in the field of translations of fiction.
