THE PROBLEM OF STUDYING NEOLOGISMS IN MODERN LINGUISTICS

The article discusses the terms “neologism”, “neology”. The author examines the role of the modern press in the formation and dissemination of neologisms. It is noted that the problems associated with the consideration of neologisms have been studied sufficiently, but in recent decades a new approach has emerged that takes into account the term we are studying and consists in exploring the interaction between the process of creating new words and their use in a specific speech space. The author came to the conclusion that lexicography at the present stage of development, formed in recent decades, it provides unimaginable opportunities that will allow us to study neologisms, as well as monitor the formation of our vocabulary.
