PRAGMATIC DOCUMENTS AND THEIR ROLE IN THE PROCESS OF INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION

The qualification level of foreign language school graduate has to be extremely high according to the modern society. Students have to be proficient, they have to know not only the system of the language, but also how it is functioning, different speech communication tools and also they have to specialize in the field of cross-cultural communication. This requires knowledge of modern approaches to the strategies and policies in the field of intercultural communication. A person is surrounded by a lot of different texts nowadays. On the one hand, such a text presents features of functioning of foreign language, on the other hand, it indicates cultural identity, traditions and daily behavior. There is a need for learning process arranging to facilitate the text perception as a product of culture in order to cultivate students’ abilities to organize intercultural communication. While recognizing the pragmatic and cultural value of foreign language learning, attention is focused on the source of certain typology of the texts that service everyday communication – pragmatic texts. The aim is to identify methodological potential of pragmatic texts while learning German language within the school curriculum.
