THE FORMATION OF RELATIONS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND ENGLAND IN THE ENTENTE IN 1907-1914

The article analyzes Russian-British relations after the conclusion of the 1907 agreement on Afghanistan, Persia and Tibet. Britain and Russia have gone a difficult way from a certain consensus to the possibility of forming a military alliance. It is emphasized that the rapprochement of the two countries was caused by the growing influence of Germany. Both powers overcame their differences and were able to come close to forming a military alliance. However, due to the outbreak of the First World War, they were unable to do this.
