VERBS OF THE INCIPIENT MODE OF ACTION IN -AA, REQUIRING THE INDICATOR –SEM

This article examines the productive use of inchoative verbs with the -SEM marker in the language of the Tundra Yukaghirs of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The relevance of this study lies in the need to define and theoretically explain those aspects of Yukaghir grammar that define its uniqueness. The novelty of this work lies in the fact that this is the first study of inchoative verbs in the Tundra Yukaghir language. Particular attention is given to inchoative verbs derived from nouns, verbal stems, and complex verbal stems with a clearly distinguishable marker using the affix -aa-, which is used to denote an action beginning at the moment of speech.
