The article traces the dynamics of sociocultural adaptation of international students studying in a foreign language. The topic is relevant because of the need for a scientific grounding of the pedagogical mechanisms that help students overcome the language barrier and enter the sociocultural space of the university. The aim of the work is to assess how the indicators of sociocultural adaptation change at different stages of the pedagogical system's implementation.
The study followed a formative design and relied on baseline, first, and second diagnostic assessments. A total of 103 international students took part and were divided into a control group and experimental groups. A set of methods was used to reveal the motivational–value, personal, and activity-related components of sociocultural adaptation. Statistical processing was carried out using Pearson's chi-square (χ²) test.
The results point to a positive dynamic of sociocultural adaptation indicators in the experimental groups compared with the control group, which confirms the effectiveness of the pedagogical conditions applied.
