DYNAMICS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS’ READINESS FOR SOCIOCULTURAL ADAPTATION TO THE UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENT WITHIN A PEDAGOGICAL SUPPORT SYSTEM

In the context of the internationalization of higher education and growing academic mobility, the adaptation of international students to the university environment is becoming increasingly important. Its nature and intensity are largely determined by the organization of pedagogical support, which ensures a structured inclusion of students in the academic and sociocultural space of the university. The aim of this article is to identify the dynamics of the development of international students’ readiness for sociocultural adaptation during the formative stage of a pedagogical experiment carried out within a pedagogical support system. The study was grounded in systemic, axiological, and participatory approaches. The sample included 93 international students at two universities, assigned to one control group (CG) and two experimental groups (EG-1 and EG-2). The baseline, first, and second interim assessments are analyzed across the motivational-value, personal, and activity-related components; Pearson’s chi-square test was used for statistical processing. The findings reveal a stable positive trend that varies depending on the conditions of pedagogical support. Compared with the control group, the experimental groups showed a more pronounced decrease at the threshold level and an increase at the sufficient and advanced levels. The most substantial changes were observed in EG-2, confirming that comprehensive support contributes to the purposeful, stage-by-stage development of readiness.
