The problem capitalist modernization Russia in the views Russian liberal conservatives second half XIX century

The article deals with the views of the most prominent representatives of the Russian liberal-conservative thought in the second half of the XIX century – B.N. Chicherin and K.D. Kavelin on socio-economic development of Russia in the post-reform period. Particular attention is paid to understanding the problems associated with the spread of capitalist relations in the country, as well as the place and role of the state in the economy. The development and strengthening of capitalist relations, which should take into account national specificities, liberal conservatives saw an important step not only economic modernization of Russia, but also an important step towards building a civil society in the country
