Mamedova Sevinj Yashargizi  (Lecturer, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (Baku city, Azerbaijan) )

The article deals with the fictional text as an object of linguistic analysis. It is noted that the literary text provides material for linguistic analysis in many different aspects, and the results are interesting not only for linguistics but also for cultural studies, sociology, philosophy and psychology. Modern cognitive linguistics research focuses on the idea of identifying significant fragments of the national language picture of the world, manifested in a literary text. The article analyzes the novel "Freedom" by A. Masoud. Written at the turn of the century and dedicated to the most painful period in the history of modern Azerbaijan, novelistic discourse reflects the collective narrative and fully complies with the "people's stream of consciousness." In terms of structural and semantic relationship novel corresponds to a true narrative, so that the addressee of discourse fully identifies himself with its ideology.
