The article is devoted to the history of study protomeotskih and rannemeotskih monuments on the territory of Zakubanye in pre-Scythian and early Scythian times. The basic stages of the study of burial grounds and settlements protomeotov and early Meotians. The importance of the obtained materials for many years of field research for the understanding of the ethno-cultural processes of the ancient history of the region. The paper also deals with the prospects for further research.
