Comparative analysis of the images of “superfluous people” in Russian and Chinese literature

“Superfluous man” is a typical image in the Russian literature of the 19th century. In the first half of the 20th century, a number of similar characters also appeared in Chinese literature. The article gives a comparative analysis of the images of “superfluous people” in Russian and Chinese literature. It also describes the socio-cultural significance of these images for modern society and their aesthetic content.
