Artistic Work: Its Perception and Interpretation

The article focuses on the literary analysis of two American novels: “Sister Carrie” by Theodore Dreiser and “The Sun Also Rises” by Ernest Hemingway. The author tries to prove that the process of perception and interpretation of those writers’ works seem to be in close connection with individual stylistic characteristics and artistic devices. The chosen novels appear especially illustrative in this respect as they demonstrate different, even contrasting methods of narration, descriptions, and principles of psychological implication.
