The conceptual connection of the category of intensification with the categories of emotiveness and impressiveness

The relation of intensification to emotive and impressive force of speech is considered. The two functions of intensification are distinguished. The first is gradational realization of emotive and impressive force of speech, the second is non-gradational realization of the same. Emotiveness is the expression of the first person feelings (“I”), impressiveness is the influence of the force of speech on the second person feelings (“You”). The category of intensification is manifeted in the composition of dicteme, the elementary topical and stylistically prepared unit of text formed by sentences.
