Political-psychological approaches in the research of the history of South African foreign policy

In the framework of this article, the author sought to show some political and psychological approaches in the study of the history of South Africa's foreign policy. The history of South Africa is closely intertwined with events of international scale. The political and economic evolution of South Africa has specific features, and it can be regarded as a kind of a laboratory, which makes it possible to follow the application of new theories of international relationsin practice. Studying the context of transition and changes in the foreign policy environment, one should pay attention to the personal characteristics of the figures who conducted the country's foreign policy, to their beliefs and stereotypes that largely influenced the final choice when making decisions in the foreign policy sphere.
