Features of the use of the article in the English language in the literary text (on the example of Jane Austen's novel “Pride and prejudice”)

This article provides examples where we can observe and analyze the emotional functioning of articles in the discourse of literary text. The data obtained in the framework of the presented scientific research is based on the study of the use of the article in the literary text in English, contribute to determining that the article may have a different degree of emotional isolation. It is noted that the article is an important linguistic means for expressing emotionality of varying degrees in the discourse of literary text. The theoretical significance of the work is determined by the further development of the theory of emotional deixis. Special emotional power has the definite article, which carries in its semantics the value of uniqueness and originality, but also the other two articles, the indefinite and the zero are also making a kind of emotional tinge in the relevant stretch of discourse. The data obtained can be used in the educational benefits for students of non-language Universities, and for others, who will learn English.
