Russian conservatives' views of the revolutionary events in the Europe of 1848-1849

The article is dedicated to the assessment of the revolutionary events of 1848– 1849 in the epistolary, publicistic and literary texts by the Russian conservatives. They not only analysed the political situation in the Western Europe, but also reflected upon the impact of the revolutions for the future destinies of Russia. It is noted that the Russian conservatives considered "the decline of Europe" as the immediate political prospect.
