The soviet state policy inreletion to abortion in the second half of the 1940-s (on materials of the buryat ASSR)

The article is devoted to the policy of the Soviet state in relation to abortion in the second half of 1940s on the materials of the Buryat ASSR. The main directions of work on combating abortion are considered: prohibitions on termination of pregnancy without medical indicators, prosecution of those who violated the law on prohibition of abortion, propaganda. The measures taken by the country's leadership to combat abortion are analyzed. The article shows the difficulties faced by local authorities when implementing of instructions from the center, provides statistics on abortion.
