Dispossession of kulaks in the Cherepovets district of the Leningrad Region in days of collectivization

In this article, one of the most tragic moments of the peasantry in the history of the Soviet state, the process of dispossession, was analyzed on the basis of archival documents and materials of the local periodical press. The author examines the main points of the policy of dekulakization by the example of the data of the Cherepovets district of the Leningrad region during the years of collectivization. On the basis of archival materials, the idea of who was the kulak and what categories of kulaks were singled out by the Soviet authorities was revealed. The data presented on the methods and methods of dekulakization, the number of peasant families subject to eviction from the territories they occupy show the scope of the anti-kulak policy on the ground. The article also gives examples of how peasant households, classified as "kulaks", resisted the authorities and how the peasants managed to move from the category of kulaks to the middle peasants.
