An analysis of the state and prospects of cooperation between the Far Eastern regions of the Russian Federation and China and Japan was carried out. In the Far East, Russia is interested in forcing the development of international relations with these countries. The most promising areas of cooperation are trade and economic, scientific and technical, as well as tourism and ecology. It is concluded that the suc-cess and duration of Russian accession to the APR as a full-fledged economic and political partner will largely depend on how the international ties between the eco-nomic leaders of the NEA countries are formed.
