Lexical lakunarity as a reflection of the national cultural specificity of the Russian language picture of the world

The article substantiates the possibility of studying the Russian language as a foreign language on the basis of mastering the linguistic picture of the world reflected in the Russian equivalent-free vocabulary. A pilot study was conducted in which Russian speakers shared their associative responses to the inter-language Chinese-Russian lacunae. The similarity of associative reactions indicates the unity of the semantic content of the proposed lexemes among the native speakers of the Russian language, which gives grounds to speak of the connection between the equivalent vocabulary and the language picture of the world.
