The phenomenon of Anempodist Sofronov

The article considers the life and work of Anempodist Sofronov, an outstanding social and cultural figure and a founder of Yakut literature. It is determined that many basic principles of national literature and ethno-poetics were created by the writer, which predetermined the stylistic directions of Yakut literature in the 20th century. The phenomenon of A.I. Sofronov lies in the fact that due to his creative work, it took fifteen years for the emerging Yakut literature to pass the path which took more developed literatures a whole century to go through. It is established that interest in his work is not only not weakening, but only increases more with the time.
