Innkeepers' guards as armed force of the excise department of the ministry of finance of the Crimean Region (june 1918 – march 1919)

In 2018, it marks the 100th Anniversary of the Crimean Regional Government and the one of publication of its Declaration to the inhabitants of the Crimea. At the same time, its activities remain virtually unexplored. It applies particularly to the Ministry of Finance and the armed forces of its Excise Office – Innkeepers' guards (Korchemnaya strazha), the history of which this article is devoted to. A thorough analysis of the sources, many of which are introduced into scientific circulation, allowed the authors to conclude that Innkeepers' guards played its role not only in the activities of the Ministry of Finance, but also as a well-organized armed force in the work of the Crimean Regional Government.
