Linguistic means of expression of a sense perception and their role in semantic organization of the story «Typhus» by A.P. Chehov

The article analyzes the text of Chekhov's story «Typhus» from the point of view of the verbalization of linguistic units with the semantics of sensory perception. The author pays special attention to the development of the storyline, divides the story into two parts, and analyzes of selected utterances with the semantics of sensory perception is given. Within the framework of the whole story, the meaning-forming function of these linguistic units is determined; their role in revealing image of hero and ideological thought of the artistic text is highlighted.
