Author in the book «Capitals of the world» by P.D. Boborykin

The purpose of the paper is to research the specifics of author’s presence and image in the “Capitals of the World” memoirs trilogy by P.D. Boborykin (1836 – 1921), based on the modern state of author’s image theoretics in Russian theory of literature. The analysis of particular chapters allows us to conclude that author’s image in the book is being represented in three different forms: author-narrator, author-analytic and author-observer. Besides, we reveal the specifics of author’s image in the book in relation to the specifics of author’s image in another two books of memoirs trilogy – “The Eternal City (About Rome)” and “During Half-a-Century (About Russia)”, what’s also very important for the research of the trilogy.
