The problem of the modern Russian drama as the artistic unit

This work is devoted to the peculiarities of modern Russian drama (1990-2010) as specific literary and esthetic phenomen of Russian culture at the turn of the century. The article briefly describes the features of the drama of the second half of the 20th century, which predetermined the creative quest of playwriters and changes in the poetics of dramas nowadays: the originality of the concept of the hero of the post-vampilov period (the "new wave") and the authors of the "new drama", the modification of conflict and genre models. These features allow us to talk about a certain creative basis of modern drama, as well as about the ways of its further development.
