Goal-setting as the unacceptable aspect of genre theory in understanding the phenomenon of literature

When abstracting literary concepts «literature» and «fiction», as well as the sign of equality between them, a new, holistic genre theory is proposed that has three aspects: formal, content and goal-setting. The division of literature is conceived in a hermeneutical way and relies on a philosophical interpretation of the image of the Holy Trinity. The identification of the missing aspect of the genre theory - goal-setting - excludes the possibility of opposing the types of literature; the use of such expressions as «non-literary», «semi-artistic», «extra-genre».
