Semantic peculiarities of artificial language Hen Llinge

The article is devoted to the study of semantic peculiarities of artificial language Hen Llinge by means of which ancient peoples of elves communicate in the book series “The Witcher” written by a Polish fantasy writer Andrzej Sapkowski. The purpose of the article is to find out the characteristics of paradigmatic lexical groups in this language. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the analysis of the thematic groups, synonymic sets and antonymic pairs according to the main parameters of the similar lexical groups in real languages. It has been found out that lexical system of the A. Sapkowski’s language is characterized by thematic groups representing phenomena of the world around in the fabulous universe; two and three member synonymic sets, contradictory and coversive antonyms.
