Structures with the implicit comparative semantics in A.P. Chekhov’s novel “My life”

The article describes the use of structures that express association based on similarity in A.P. Chekhov’s novel “My life”. It is shown that the structures explicitly expressing comparison and the structures with the implicit comparative semantics where the idea of comparison does not get an explicit expression are widely used in the text. Different types of structures with the implicit comparative semantics are distinguished in the article and their functional features are considered.
