The transition state of the historiography of uniate church in the post-reform Russia of the 70s of the XIX century

Literature concerning the pre-revolutionary historiography of the Union processes in the Ruthenian lands of the XV-XVII centuries is very significant, heterogeneous. However, as an independent subject of historiographical analysis, it has never been subjected to special development. In this regard, its analysis was embodied either in small linear chronological reviews of the largest works of MV Dmitriev, AB Eliseev, etc., or in the works of G. E. Shcheglov, MV Dmitriev and other researchers on the General scientific contribution of the scientists who wrote them. In this article we will try to look at the history of the study of the issue from an evolutionary point of view, fixing the fundamental features of one of the stages of development of the study of the problem.
