Features of teaching music students within the framework of implementation of competence approach in the university

The article actualizes the problem of implementing the competence approach in the process of teaching university students to music. The author considers this problem in the context of identifying the specifics of this process. The article substantiates the importance of music education and the need to move from traditional teaching technologies to the technologies of the “language of competences”. It justifies the urgency of the trends in the implementation of a competence-based approach in music pedagogy, which makes it possible to use the experience of the musical heritage in unlocking the uncharted potential for personal development, and also establishes certain methodological guidelines for achieving an understanding of the essence of music vocation for human society. Knowledge of the peculiarities of teaching students of the university music in the context of the competence-based approach, used in the framework of integration with the field of music education, helps to identify and identify new categories, conceptual foundations, ways and provisions for realizing the potential of music pedagogy. This is the basis of the path of creative self-realization of the individual, the result of the development of the proper competencies of which is unswervingly translated into society.
