the Relevance of the study lies in the fact that modern historical literature practically does not affect the problem of creating a decision – making mechanism and the specifics of the main management bodies of business companies of the Russian Empire of the late XIX-early XX centuries, which does not allow to fully trace the development of capitalist relations in industrial production. The subject of the study is the main management and decision-making body of the largest joint-stock company in Western Siberia from 1898 to 1917. The purpose of the article is to highlight the main features of the General meeting with the participation of shareholders, their Trustees and hired managers. The basis of the research is the problem-chronological method and the method of analysis, as well as the principles of scientific objectivity and historicism. The scope of the results. The results of the study can be applied in the study of the economic history of the marginal territories of the Russian state. The novelty of the study is that unpublished sources from the Federal and regional archives have been introduced into scientific circulation. The study revealed that the transition of the largest river company in Western Siberia under the control of Finance and banking institutions with the permission of the Executive authorities contributed to the acceleration of the development of a new economic structure, in which private capital falls under the control of professional managers.
