Some views on the translation theory of Fedorov

Andrey Fedorov (1906-1997) is one of the outstanding representatives of the Soviet school of translation studies. He first introduced the concept of translation theory, which systematically sets out the linguistic theory of translation. Fedorov substantiates his approach from the point of view of the essence of translation, the basis of translation, translation techniques and diversity of translation. This article examines some aspects of Fedorov's translation theory, for example: the essence of translation, translation unit and translation methods.
