the article is devoted to the introduction into science and analysis of new finds in South Dagestan from a landslide accidentally discovered after a landslide collapse near Ushnigh village in Tabasaran district of the Republic of Dagestan. The analysis of the data on the construction of the burial structure and on the inventory of the Ushnigh burial allows us to draw analogies with the early medieval burial monuments of the Western Caspian. Of particular interest are the finds of a jug with a channelized surface, bronze lugs, suspensions, and two-plate fibulae, which make it possible to date burials by the end of the 4th-beginning of the 5th cc.

Keywords:Early Middle Ages, Western Caspian Sea, South Dagestan, funeral rite, channelized vessel
