The ideology of "hate groups" in the United States: history and current trends

The article examines the features of the ideology of «hate groups», manifestations of racism and racial problems in American history. Studies have been conducted on «hate groups» and their role in the American political process, the analysis of relations between races, racist attitudes, the causes of racial riots. It is shown that the strongest contradictions were observed in the relations between white citizens, African Americans and Latin Americans, which led to mass riots and unrest. In recent years the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Confederates, anti-Muslims, anti-immigrants, «Christian Identity», neo-Nazis, white nationalists and the Patriotic movement (volunteer militia) have become more active. Among the African-American separatists the «Nation of Islam» remains at the forefront. Radical organizations have not been able to make a significant impact on real policies which based on liberal values, human rights doctrine and tolerance. However, the course towards the racial integration which is carried out by the authorities was insufficiently effective.
