Structural and functional differentiation of the English language in the Caribbean region

The purpose of the article is to study the structural and functional differentiation of the English language in the countries of the Caribbean region. The article defines the status of the English language in the former colonies of England as one of the subsystems in the higher level system - polynational English. The features of the division of speech and communicative spaces in the Caribbean region are investigated. The involvement of various forms of language in the provision of communication needs of the inhabitants of the Caribbean region.
