Wrestling in Tuva: the stages and ways of further development

In this article the main stages of development of free-style wrestling reveal. Freestyle wrestling began to develop in Tuva as an independent sport from the end of the 50s of the last century. It, as a kind of combat sports, has a short but glorious history of development in our country. In this work history and tradition of development of free-style wrestling in Tuva which, for already sixty years plays an important role in sports life of East Siberia and Russia as a whole are considered. Historical research in this area is important both in practical, theoretical, educational and prognostic aspects. The authors propose the prerequisites for the emergence, stages and ways of further development of freestyle wrestling in the Tuvan land.
