Potential of digital educational environment when teaching foreign languages to students of non-language directions of training

In the article the arguments for new information communication technologies use in the form of a digital educational environment in foreign language teaching in higher education are presented. The potential of digital platforms for the development of academic skills in students of non-linguistic majors aimed at forming the ability to get and process professionally oriented information in a foreign language and academic tasks solving is described. Scientific academic competence is regarded as a professional competence component consisting of motivation, knowledge and activity levels to be formed. The results of the experimental research having been carried out to reveal the digital educational environment potential are also given in the article.
