Gender-inclusive language guides in Spain

The article is devoted to guidelines for countermeasures against gender asymmetry and on overcoming discrimination in the Spanish language proposed by different organizations in Spain. Such problems related to gender-inclusive language usage as linguistic sexism in grammar and sexism at the lexico-semantical level of language are discussed. The importance of understanding the link between language processes and changes in Spanish society is highlighted. Analyzing modern gender-inclusive language guides for the Spanish language and their criticism provides an insight into how social changes and changes in the public consciousness can be translated into speech behavior and influence language policy.
