Cliometrics as a direction of historical research

The article considers cliometrics as a direction of historical research, which was formed in the 1960s-80s. The differences between cliometrics and traditional historical studies using the descriptive method are presented. Interpretations of the concept of cliometrics are considered. The stages of cliometric study are given. The main directions of criticism and the risks of the cliometric approach are highlighted. The current state of cliometry is defined.
