The role of distance education in the system of teaching foreign languages

The article describes the current trends in Russian education related to the spread of distance learning. It proves that the spread of distance learning as one of the advanced technologies will contribute to improving the level and quality of foreign language skills of citizens. The introduction of distance learning requires the transformation of the traditional education system, created to prepare the active subject of the educational process.
