Hind Fraihi and her immersion in Molenbeek

Hind Fraihi is Belgian of Moroccan origin, specialist in sociology and observer of Flemish newspaper “Nieuwsblad”. Her name is well known in Belgium and in France. In 2006 she finished a large-scale study on the Middle East phenomenon of immigration to Belgium based on her own experience in the famous quarter of Molenbeek in Brussels densely-populated by Moroccan emigrants. But at that time all the attempts of the author to publish the study entitled in French “En immersion à Molenbeek” (“Undercover in Molenbeek” - eng.) failed. All Belgian publishers using the principle of political correctness, refused to edit this exclusive study. There was only one explanation: in spite of the growing number of Muslim immigrants in Europe they don’t represent any terrorist danger. Only after the terrorist attacks in Paris on the 13th of November 2015 which were organized by Islamic radicals from Belgium and left 130 dead, the Parisian publishing house “La Différence” decided to translate from Flemish to French and to edit the study which has become immediately a sort of scientific best-seller. In spite of the fact that the study appeared more than ten years ago its actuality has not expired. And its conclusions help to understand the motives and origins of Islamic terrorism in Europe.
