The development of additional art education of children in the traditions of arts and crafts in institutions of additional education

The article deals with the issues of the modern paradigm in the field of art education for children. The author of the article attaches particular importance to the definition of the status of decorative and applied art, which he interprets as artistic objects made of various materials and techniques in various stylistic and specific directions, created over the centuries-old history of the development of human civilization. This position of decorative art allows the author to position it as a means of artistic education of children. One of the institutions implementing the programs of art education in the traditions of arts and crafts is the institutions of supplementary education for children. The author suggests that institutions of additional education, being a component of the educational system, perform the function of supporting the subprocesses of the upbringing and development of children. The study was conducted by the author on the example of the traditions of arts and crafts of the peoples of Dagestan.
